Naggaroth (meaning "Land of Chill") is the region to the far north of the New World. It is the realm of the Dark Elves. "Naggaroth" also refers by extension to the entire continent.
The region was settled by the Dark Elves thousands of years ago following their defeat in the Elven civil war, and was established as their realm under Malekith the Witchking.
The realm of Naggaroth surrounds the inland Sea of Malice. The landscape is cold, bleak and inhospitable. Towards the south of the region, the soil becomes fertile enough to support gloomy pine forests. Delineating Naggaroth's northern borders with the Chaos Wastes are the range of Watch Towers which guard the lands further south from the warbands of Chaos.
A range of great barren mountains called the Blackspine Mountains divides the whole continent into the eastern region, which the Dark Elves inhabit, and the western regions along the western coast.
Naggaroth has six heavily-fortified cities:
