Taal is an Old World religion. He is the god of nature and wild places. He was, like his brother Ulric, a pre-Imperial tribal god. Though he has the primal aspects of nature, he his not violent. Not respecting the land will incur his wrath, but it is often in the wild places that his protection can be found.

His followers are those farmers and hunters who live off, and depend on, the land. There is no formal church to Taal, there are many smaller shrines of piles of stones in the countryside where passing woodsmen can pay their respects.

The region Taal comes from still retains his name - Talabecland. Also, the river Talabec is given over to Taal.
