Taal is an Old World religion. He is the god of nature and wild places. He was, like his brother Ulric, a pre-Imperial tribal god. Though he has the primal aspects of nature, he his not violent. Disrespect of the land will incur his wrath, but usually it is in the wild where is protection is strongest.

His followers are those farmers and hunters who live off, and depend on, the land. While there is no formal church or temple dedicated to Taal, there are many piles of stones in the countryside that act as shrines where passing woodsmen can pay their respects.
