The Charnal Valley is located in Nehekhara, the land of the Tomb Kings of Khemri. It is a passage through the Worlds Edge Mountains which split Nehekhara in two. Before Nagash it was known as the Valley of the Kings. Also, it was named by the Nomads, the Valley of the Dead. It is between 400 and 500 miles long.
At the western entrance of the valley lies the great palace of Quatar. It is said that the valley walls are lined with statues of gods and kings, and there is a possibility that a powerful priest has moved into the palace and learnt to awaken the statues making travel through the valley treacherous at best. This could have been Sehenesmet, Vizier of Quatar, although he is said to reside at the other end of the valley, in Mahrak.
At the eastern end lies Mahrak. Originally ruled by King Phar, he used the valley to ambush and destroy Settra's armies, in his first coming. Only after Phar was killed could Settra take Mahrak.
