History
Like all queens of Khemri since the time of Settra she was born in Lahmia but would later marry Rakaph III. [2a]
She placed her infant son on the throne, ruling on his behalf and initially none dared oppose her forced take over, especially those who lived in the city, despite her defying the ancient laws. [2a] Rasut also continued the conflict with her husbands great rival, king Rahmohtep of Numas, riding to battle in her golden chariot. Although her enemy was never defeated in battle, he was also never able to take Khemri. [3a]
The Hieratic Council of Mahrak convinced her to relinquish the throne and leave her son in the care of her trusted Vizier, Khetep whilst she returned to Lahmia. However her son succumbed to a sudden fever and didn't survive his third year. [2a]
Locations
Rasut was powerful enough to have a large tomb dedicated to herself and her son.[1]
Succession
She was followed, in the third dynasty, by King Khetep, her former Vizier. [1][2a]
