Image Hyrophant.jpg Welcome, new adept of the LEXICANUM!

Hi there and welcome. It's nice to see new faces around!
A great place to start, if you are new to wikis, are the
help pages and guidelines.
If you have any further questions please contact a Sysop.
Most of all however, please enjoy your time here :)
Otherwise, see you around the site!

External Links

When you use external links as a source, (like you did it in Golgfag), you format them like this: [http://whfb.lexicanum.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=User_talk:Thornblood&action=edit User talk:Thornblood] Great work otherwise! NTC3 10:00, 9 September 2011 (CEST)

Apparently, I'm forced to remind you about this topic again. In the Gorbad Ironclaw article, if I don't see a specific external link where I now see text "Games Workshop Website" (which could refer to any page there), I will be forced to remove material under this source. We simply cannot tolerate something this unclear. NTC3 12:33, 1 October 2011 (CEST)

I fixed the issues with this article and I intend this to be an example. May I never need to remind you about it again. NTC3 13:09, 1 October 2011 (CEST)

P.S. As I found out on 40K Lex, we are not meant to use references, because 1 are a more established way of sourcing. NTC3 12:33, 1 October 2011 (CEST)

==Warhammer Online==from Hy there, I wish to warn you that Warhammer Online is not cannon (i.e.: not a part of the official universe). There are some (important) differences: 1st of all there is no Archaeon.

You may if you wish write about Warhammer Online in its article. Sorry. Aehren 01:36, 28 September 2011 (CEST)

Dark Omen

You know, you could write a new article about the Dark Omen PC game and give a more detailed description of the main characters in the article itself. Just don't copy from Wikipedia or anyone else. Aehren 02:56, 28 September 2011 (CEST)

Thanks for the pointers! Im new to this and still getting the hang of it. I intend to create a fair few pages, but I am currently well away from my resources and I tend not to download copies of them from file sharing websites, so some things will have to wait (I have a number of Witch Hunter books and resources to pour through when I get to them). Until then I have put in a number of Dark Omen references because there fun, add a level of depth and character to some articles and really easy to do. I didn't know Warhammer Online wasn't canon, so thanks for that- Thornblood
The most important rule of the Lexicanum is to have fun. Seriously, write about subjects that you truly like when and if you want. If you force yourself to focus and write about a subject you don't like you will burn out. Don't forget your family, friends, school, job and hobbies. Aehren 22:45, 28 September 2011 (CEST) PS: to sign you posts just type 4 " ~ " at the end.
Look, despite having rather good memories of Dark Omen I think that we should be a bit cautious in adding certain items of information, like minor characters, into common articles. I mean the mercenaries you meet and may hire in Nuln and other places are hardly notable people of Nuln. We could add them into an article about Dark Omen and/or mercenaries but not Nuln. Aehren 12:23, 1 October 2011 (CEST)
Heya, I partially agree with you. Partially, because there is plenty more going on in Nuln than the few paragraphs that are there and orginated from a very old Empire army book. I would love to put in the events in Skavenslayer, where you gain alot more info on the upper classes including the Elector- Countess, her secret police and the Skaven activity under the city (Nuln isnt only a human city). In this case I think that Elector Count Valmir Von Raukov's son is quite an important person in Nuln, especially for those writing WHFRP campaigns. Likewise, Forgeworld's Jubal Falk has a miniature and a whole regiment of Ironsides, so I figured he should definately be added to Nuln. Also, I thought this was to be a comprehensive wiki trying to source every scrap of info GW has ever put out there so people can access it. (Sorry, my tone sounds harsh but I dont mean it to be). Thornblood
Hey, if I wanted to be surrounded by "yes-men" I would have joined some political party or some religious organization. Your idea to include the information from Skavenslayer is perfectly acceptable and Boris von Raukov is indeed a feature of the Warhammer universe. However all things have their proper places and he simply isn't an important feature of the city of Nuln itself.
I also looked around (books, novels, etc) about Valmir von Raukov and page 458 of the Rulebook (8th Edition) tells that he only had two sons from his wife. The text strongly suggests that he had a couple of love affairs but that he never publicly acknowledged any of his bastard children. This creates a small problem: if Boris von Raukov is his eight son does it include all the children of Valmir or not? IMHO the proper places for mentioning Boris von Raukov is inside the following articles: mercenaries, Wahammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat, and inside the newly created article about his father: Valmir von Raukov. I'm happy to hear that you want to make the Lexicanum comprehensive, and a part of that is making it easy to navigate. I think you should write articles for each and every subject you mentioned and incorporate links to them in the Nuln article. Thus, all information about Nuln will be accessible from the main article without it loosing focus. /Hildifons 11:54, 2 October 2011 (CEST)
Bah, IMHO we should start with the more important comprehensive articles: Shadow of the Horned Rat, Dark Omen. In these article we can mention all the minor characters and give a simple description about them. Afterwards we could create their own articles. More or less like a tree: we begin with the roots and end up with the many leaves. Having said that, any of us is truly free to write about any subject that he wants to write about. as long it belongs to Warhammer Fantasy and it includes proper sources... First off, thanks for organizing Boris von raukov. Finding his picture cant have been easy either! Secondly, an article for Bernhardt the protagonist of SOTHR and DO already existed, so I have re-routed SOTHR and DO to him. I have added a list of units that turn up in SOTHR under the Grudgebringers personal army of Bernhardt. Was abit shocked at the lack of Ironbreakers and hammerers when I tried to link them in. As we tend not to break the third wall on Lexicanum I figured that going through the protagonist was the best way forward (and seeing a SOTHR and DO section existed there too). The Witch Hunter's Handbook

I have been verifying this sourcebook and while I found Konrad von Blutheim (page 9, not 10), I was unable to find any rumours about him being Konrad von Carstein. I even checked 'chapter III concerning the undead'. This rumour is not to be included if it came from a forum or something similar.

The best place to mention former Elector Counts is the respective article, in this particular case Elector Count of Wissenland. They are not that important for the province itself. Aehren 18:15, 8 October 2011 (CEST)

Whilst yes it is a rumour I have discussed as friends, its based on the fact that Konrad Von Carstien turns up around the 2010 mark and before the siege of Altdorf in 2051, we talked about this when the Witch Hunters handbook was released and then discovered that we were not the only ones to notice this via forums. I decided this was a deliberate lore/rumour ploy by GW, so only stated it as rumour in the subject.
Look, it's admitedly an interresting idea but we can't include our personal theories into the articles. Please don't do it again. Points his finger and says loudly: No speculation! (disintegration). Aehren 00:11, 9 October 2011 (CEST)
