Alaric the Mad was an ancient Dwarf Runesmith. He is famous for his many creations, and most of them are indeed among the most powerful artifacts in the world. He was known as 'the mad' by his fellow Dwarfs because he chose to remain with the Human tribes rather than return to the mountain holds in order to teach them crafts such as blacksmithing. Alaric believed that humanity would become vital allies in the fight against Chaos and the Greenskins, so taught them vital skills to aid them in battle.

Famous creations

  • The Nemesis Crown was his last, and possibly most powerful (and dangerous) contraption. Constructed of pure warpstone, almost everyone that has touched it has been driven mad.
  • The Runefangs - forged on orders from King Kurgan Ironbeard, they were granted as a gift to the chieftains of the tribes that became the Elector Counts of Sigmar's Empire.
