Amphisbaena

The creature known as Amphisbaena or the Snake of Seers [3] resembles a normal snake - only much larger and with a head at either end. [1]

Appearance

They often have strikingly coloured scales, asymmetrical crimson and sky-blue patterns along their entire length. Like most reptiles they are cold-blooded, but are less effected by the cold. Their eyes shine like glittering lamps in the dark, casting light about and luring unwary creatures to their death. [3]

Smaller individuals usually reach over ten feet length, but even exemplars over twenty feet long are known. Amphisbaenae are poisonous, although their size allows them also to constrict their victims. They can survive the loss of one of their heads and have a special sense to detect warm-blooded creatures to prey on.[1]

Habitat

Amphisbaena about frosty mountain peaks and foetid marshes [3] including the jungles of Lustria.[2]
