Prelude to the Battle
In 2301 IC during the Great War against Chaos Ulthuan was invaded by a vast army of Dark Elves led by the Witch King himself, causing vast damage to the northern kindgoms and setting the forests of Avelorn and Chrace ablaze. The Everqueen was nearly captured, only saved by Prince Tyrion. Seeming unstopable the Druchii surged onwards but beacons of resistance were forming around Imrik, Dragon lord of Caledor and Prince Moranion of Athel Tamarha, although the Phoenix King Finubar remained besieged in Lothern. [1a]
2302 IC saw the Greater Daemon N'Kari seeking to claim Alarielle but was defeated and banished by Teclis and together the two brothers, the queen and her remaining Handmaidens travelled to Finuval Plain where the disparate remaining forces of the High Elves were gathering. [1a]
The Battle
Once the two armies had massed opposite each other, the champion of Malekith, Urian Poisonblade challenged anyone to face him. He cut down Arhalien of Yvresse with ease, and after a short duel beheaded the captain of the White Lions, Korhien Ironglaive but now Tyrion now rode out to face him. The subsequent conflict lasted over an hour but resulted in the defeat of the Dark Elf. The two armies then charged each other. [5a]
The two forces clashed with Tyrion fighting in the centre. Meanwhile Teclis fought Malekith himself in a duel of sorcery, facing the first time a wizard that was his match. As they fought, Malekith unleashed a horde of Daemons upon the already outnumbered High Elves, but Alarielle used her last reserves of energy, destroying thousands of them in a wave of pure light before collapsing into unconsiousness being taken to safety by her surviving Handmaidens. [1a]
As the high elves began to be overwhelmed, Teclis invoked the goddess Lileath for one last attack on the Witch King who was forced to fling himself into the Realm of Chaos or be destroyed by the huge bolt of energy. Teclis now turned his powers on the Dark Elves as Tyrion cut down the standard bearer of Malekith and having seen their lord flee from the field, his army joined him. [1a]
Aftermath
Tyrion rode south to Lothern to save Phoenix King Finubar. In the ensuring battle the Dark Elf besiegers were put to the sword. Teclis in turn departed for Old World, to assist the Empire against the rest of the Chaos invasion. [1a]
Notes
Rakarth lost his Dark Steed mount Bracchus at the battle. [3]
Quotes
My friends, we are gathered in very dark times. Our enemies are mighty and our allies are few.
