In 2339 IC the Dark Elves captured several islands in the Shadowlands but it took some time for the fractious court of the Phoenix King to react. Finally a force was dispatched to drive them out under the joint command of Prince Eldyr and Prince Tyrion. Finding the Sundered Strand fortified against them, the High Elves first struggled and then came close to being defeated with little more than the defiance of Prince Eldyr and his guards holding the line. However the prince would soon fall to the draichs of the Executioners. [1a]
Tyrion, beset himself by a trio of Khainite Assassins was enraged by the death of his fellow general and quickly cut down his attackers before riding into the Executioners and doing the same to them. As he cut a bloody swathe through the Druchii force, the battered remnants of the High Elves reformed and turned the tide against their enemy. As Tyrion fought on, he was targeted by the Assassin Kolhir Blackheart who had been waiting for an opportunity to kill the hated prince of the High Elves. He would have plunged his poisoned dagger into Tyrion’s heart if a single arrow had not suddenly struck him down. [1a]
