Boyars are a mid-ranking position of nobility in the nation of Kislev. [1][2a]
Many are formidable military leaders with the ability to inspire and enforce greater discipline in Kislevite soldiers, as well as to liase with friendly generals in allied armies.[1]
Their rank is universally hereditary and their numbers are exclusively made up of Gospodars, unlike with the Druzhinas, the next lower level of Kislevite nobility. Boyars are prolific land owners and are fabulously wealthy, far above the common folk, though they still pay their share of taxes to the Tzarina. [2a]
History
Tzarina Katarin has encouraged the Boyars to keep a home in one of three great cities of Kislev but remain on the Oblast. She has also tried to ensure that those Boyars that are appointed to important positions are chosen for their ability rather than family pedigree. [2a]
Weapons and Equipment
- 6th Edition: Hand Weapon, may have a variety of weapons and ride a Warhorse with or without barding. [1]
