Bretonnian Fleet

The Bretonnian Fleet protects the shores and sea trade routes of Bretonnia. [1a]

A Bretonnian fleet is normally led by a Galleon, a huge vessel and good match for the Great Ships of the Empire. Although large ships, they are actually relatively fast and agile, a tribute as much to their crews as their design. Volunteers man the vessels, forming an elite crew often commanded by flamboyant, dashing captains. [1a]

Air Power

Admirals also enlist Pegasus Knights to guard against attack from the air [2a] in addition to archers armed with longbows defending from the decks of the ships themselves. [2b]

Notable Admirals

  • Henri Lamorte: In 1175 IC he led his ships into battle against the fleet of the Tomb King Amenemhetum, defeating them at Savage Point. [3a]
  • Le Fevre: A man of fearsome reputation and who sent regular letters expressing his contempt for the Imperial Sea Lords of the Empire. [2c]

Ship Types

  • Galleon: Usually commanded by an Admiral and the flagship of any flotilla. [1a]
  • Bretonnian Corsair: Ships of the line - heavily armed and designed for both combat and long voyages. [1a]
  • Buccaneer Small craft often crewed by private individuals and criminals. [1a]
