Brigundians
The Brigundians were an ancient human tribe who settled in what would become the Empire. [1a]

History
Legend has it that the Brigundians first arrived in what would become Averland in about -1000 IC, displacing or conquering the humans that already lived there. They established a great camp on the site of modern day Averheim and raided and warred with invading Orcs & Goblins as well as other tribal kingdoms including the Unberogen. Good relations were established with the local Dwarfs with the Brigundians even providing cavalry support for their armies. [1a] [2a]
In -4 IC Sigmar travelled alone to their capital, Siggurdheim which was built on a promontory of rock surrounded by a smooth stone wall. [3a] Siggurd received him and listened to his proposal that the Brigundians join his grwoing alliance of tribes.[3b]
Siggurd, then leader of the tribe took his warriors to war at the Battle of Black Fire Pass. [1a]
Military
They were able to provide their gate guards with fine iron scale hauberks, long spears, short swords and bronze helmets. [1b]
Notable
Trade
They were a rich tribe, trading iron ore and food with the Asaborns and grain with the Dwarfs. [3a]
