Clan Rabidscar
Clan Rabidscar was a Skaven Warlord Clan. [1a]
They once ruled the Black Chasm but were forced to flee after rebellions and civil war shattered the clan. [1a]
History
When Furblak took control of the clan, he was able to subdue the local Warlord clans and fior ten years they paid homage to them in the Black Chasm. [1a]
After ten years however, as he began to grow old, the clan was shattered by rebellion and civil war, and he was forced to flee with the survivors. Furblak knew of a secret deposit of warpstone that existed under Mount Taurig within the Grey Mountains and it was there the clan sought a new haven. [1a]
Moving through the bowels of the mountains the scouts located the mountain, a magical amulet guiding their way until they found the ruins of a human temple which was chosen as a new base to begin the mining. However, pilgrims arrived in the nearby town of Ausreik and headed for the ruins led by the priest of Sigmar Hans Halünke. [1b]
The man-things were driven away, back to the town and although Chieftain Scurrit was killed, this removed a threat to Furblak. He was quick to dispatch Thazakar with a large force to isolate Ausreik until he could buy reinforcements with the warpstone he intended to mine. [1c]
When a relief column arrived from Altdorf. Thazakar ambushed and defeated it, giving enough time to excavate the first warpstone shard and for Furblak to hire new forces. Scraek, Plague Priest of Clan Pestilens was enlisted to infect the town with the Black Plague and gutter runners burned storehouses but the Ausreik held on but Furblas was content to let them be starved out. When the defeders attempted to sally out however, Scraek was ordered to attack them but was defeated. [1d]
Worse was to come as Manndred Skaven Slayer was beginning a crusade to finish the skaven in the Empire and brought a powerful army to relieve the town scattering the ratmen before them. The veteran scouts of the human army quickly discovered the crude mine workings, giving Mandred a target resulting in the Battle of the Taurig which saw the end of both Furblak and the Clan. [1d]
