The Imperial Calendar, sometimes called the Sigmarite Calendar, seems to be the most popular and prevalent calendar of the Old World.

The "zero event" was the crowning of Sigmar, as first emperor of the Empire. All dates are invariably followed by an IC (short for Imperial Calendar).

Dates of events which happened before the "zero event" display a minus sign in front of the date.

Examples:

  • 2000 IC used for an event which happened 2000 years after the crowning of Sigmar.
  • - 2000 IC used for an event which happened 2000 years before the crowning of Sigmar.

The Imperial Calendar is used by the Empire and by the Wasteland, a former Imperial realm. Other civilized nations have their own calendars, but seem to acknowledge and to use the Imperial Calendar on occasion. It is likely that this knowledge came through commercial exchanges with these lands.
