The Incarnates were eight individuals who were each bound to one of the Eight Winds of Magic during the End Times.

Origin

Teclis, manipulated by Lileath goddess of prophecy, devised a plan to combat the coming Chaos Gods prior to the end times. He planned to destabilize the Great Vortex at the center of Ulthuan and bind the Winds to eight suitable champions. To this end he was he instigator and manipulator of many of the great tragedies of the End Times with hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of deaths on his hands.

It seems that in order to became an Incarnate, some link to a deity is required.

Incarnates

Wind Incarnate God Notes
Hysh Tyrion Khaine/Ulric Could only become an Incarnate after the Curse of Khaine had been removed by his death and his life restored by the Flame of Ulric. Prior to this Teclis stored the wind in his Moon Staff.
Chamon Thorgrim Grudgebearer Grungni Thorgrim is a direct descendant of the ancestor god. The wind only resided in him for a short time before moving on.
Chamon Balthasar Gelt ? Chose him after leaving Thorgrim.
Ghyran Alarielle Isha Had merged herself with Ariel, Isha's avatar made flesh.
Azyr Karl Franz/Sigmar Sigmar Sigmar was reborn in Karl Franz's body after his death.
Ulgu Malekith Asuryan As the true Phoenix King Malekith is Asuryan's avatar made flesh. Teclis intended Malekith to receive Aqshy, but lost control
Shyish Nagash Multiple Nagash's new body was originally formed from Volkmar, a distant blood relation of Sigmar, and the resurrection ritual was enacted through the sacrifice of the priests/priestess of many other divine beings. On his rebirth he ripped Shyish from the Great Vortex himself, but was unable to fully become an Incarnate due to the impurity of one of the sacrifices used to resurrect him. He then consumed the goddess Valaya of the Dwarfs and Usirian god of the Nehekharan underworld.
Aqshy Ungrim Ironfist Grimnir As the Slayer King Ungrim is Grimnir's high priest. The Slayer King was killed in the defense of Averheim and the wind moved on.
Aqshy Caradryan Asuryan As leader of the Phoenix guard Caradryan is Asuryan's champion. Chosen by the wind after the death of Ungrim.
Ghur Grimgor Ironhide Gork (or possibly Mork) Grimgor Ironhide is one half of Once and Future Git, chosen of the greenskin gods.
