Kemperbad
Kemperbad is a freistadt or autonomous trading town in The Empire. [1a]
The town is situated just north of the confluence of the rivers Reik and Stir where the Reik's eastern bank rises some 500 feet above the western and the river itself. A dock is located at the foot of the cliffs and a series of Dwarf made and maintained lifts can move people and cargo to the town above. [1a][2a]
History
The towns commanding position meant that it often changed ruler having been ruled by nobles from the Reikland, Stirland and Talabecland until the Elector Counts of the Reikland took it over in about 1000 IC. [3a]
Emperor Boris granted the town its charter in 1066 IC (Imperial Calendar) and it has grown since to be the largest example of this type of town. [1a]
Government
The town is governed by a Town Council [1b] of thirteen, mostly merchants but including the local High Priest of Shallya and Sigmar. [3a]
Notable
Population of the town is nearly 4000 adults.[1b]
- Luigi Belladonna: A racketeer from Miragliano who runs the largest protection racket in the town. [1a][3a]
- Dr Maximillian Schnippmesser: Eccentric surgeon accompanied by cats. [1a]
- Mother Petra Steinmetz, High Priest of Verena in the town. She has been learning law, justice, and swordplay since the age of seven and is a rising star in the cult. [2b]

The villages of Berghof, Brandenberg, Jungbach, Ostwald and Stockhausen. [1a]
Trade
Kemperbad is notable for the finest brandy in the Empire also produced in the nearby villages which the town council also controls, notably Brandenburg who produce Echte Brandenburg - the Emperor's favourite. [1b][2a][3a]
