Kreml Guard, are a type of elite heavy infantry in the Kislev Military. The post was created during the reign of the paranoid Tzar Igor the Terrible, feeling that he needed to be kept safe night and day from possible assailants.[1b]
The guards wear jet black robes and are armed with halberds and heavy armour. They are hand picked from the ranks of Kislev's foot soldiers in a similar way to the selection of the members of the Gryphon Legion. The Kreml Guard act as the personal bodyguard of the Tzars and Tzarinas during peacetime, guarding the palace of the Kreml (also known as the "Hill of Heroes") where Kislev's rulers live.[1a]
