Mentheus of Caledor was a High Elf general and Dragon Rider. [1a]
Family
He had a son, Altheus who was one of the candidates to succeed Morvael. [2a]
History
He was appointed general of the High Elf armies by the Phoenix King Morvael in 1133 IC and introduces mandatory military service for citizens, [1a] elves must spend part of the year in the military, providing their own wargear. [2a]
In 1146, he finally lifts the siege of the Griffon Gate which it had been enduring since he became general. [1a][2a] In this battle he was aided by the young Mage Caelith Fireheart who mounted on Rilgaur carried out a devestating charge, subsequnetly, Mentheus would name him as the first Dragon Mage in honour of his bravery. Weapons and Equipment
Mentheus used the magical Blade of Leaping Gold throughout his campaigns until his death. [4a]
