Morelion was the son of Aenarion, the first Phoenix King, and Astarielle, the Everqueen of Avelorn. He and his twin sister Yvraine were born in the 21st year of their father's reign (IC -4479).
History
When Morelion was nine years old the forces of Chaos invaded Avelorn. [1b] Astarielle, sensing her impending doom, sent Morelion and his sister to Gaen Vale to hide. On the road, they were rescued from attacking Chaos Warriors by the Treeman Oakheart and his people. Oakheart took them to the depths of the wildwoods, where they remained for the rest of the war.
The survival of the children was revealed at the First Council in IC -4419[1a], a year to the day after the disappearance of their father and about fifty years after their presumed death. It is not known why Morelion was not considered for the Phoenix Throne. Apparently, he was content with taking possession of some family heirlooms, and settled in Avelorn to care for his sister. [1b]
Some sources state that Morelion was sent to the east with an elite bodyguard to preserve the line of Aenarion. He disappeared and no trace of his vessel was ever found.
Family
His daughter Maruviel became a Handmaiden of the Everqueen and later herself became Queen of the Laurelorn Forest during the War of the Beard. Her grandaughter Marrisith is the current queen of the Eonir.[2a]
Among his other descendants is Auaralion (his great-grandson), Prince Arathion and his twin sons: Tyrion and Teclis.
