Anyone who is unable or unwilling to pay his debts can be sentenced to Mundsen Keep. He will remain there until he can find the means to pay or someone else pays his debts instead. The playwright Detlef Sierck was the victim of such an ordeal.
Realistically a powerful and well-connected noble has little to fear as his status and connections will protect him from the courts. However Alexander, ambassador of Kislev and cousin of the Tzarina herself, was all-too hastily imprisoned in Mundsen Keep. His connections arranged his release in the following morning, only to discover that he had been raped and murdered by his fellow inmates.
