Renar is a Necromancer who released the Red Duke from his tomb. [1a]
History
Renar had become the court magician to the Duke of Aquitaine, Gilon but was banished when his lord found out about his dabbling in the necromantic arts. [1c]
When the Red Duke arose, Renar attempted to take command of him but quickly learned that he would be the servant not the master. [1a]
He followed the Duke to the remains of his castle and then to the village of Mercal to in turn raise his new lords captains from their tombs. [1a] He was resisted by the Holy Knight who had gathered villagers, aspiring knights and their retinue, but the necromancer prevailed and angered by the battle, he ordered the village burnt and all of its people killed. [1b]
