Solkan the Avenger is the master of vengeance, an angry god who inflicts retribution upon the enemies of the Gods of Law. [1a]
Of all the Gods of Law, Solkan can be said to be the most well known and popular, although he and his followers are feared rather than respected. He is worshipped by many Witch Hunters.[1a] and embodies the need to avenge wrongs and eradicate corruption. Solkan hates change, and ambiguity and it is only through eradicating corruption and restoring order can he rule over an unending realm of stability. [4a]
Appearance
Solkan is portrayed as a tall man in classical robes, he wears a gold mask sculpted with an expression of resolute fury and immaculate beard whilst around his head is a fiery nimbus, symbolising his role as a sun god. [4a]
History
He and the other gods of Law fought a war against the Gods of Chaos but despite winning many victories, Solkan and his fellow gods were captured or forced to retreat. Now only Solkan clings to power, much diminished, albeit with a renewed fury against the Ruinous Powers. [4a]
Söll
Söll is a northern incarnation of Solkan, a patron god of the founding tribes of the Empire, particularly the Merogens, and is still worshipped in parts of Wissenland.[3a][4a]
History
The Cult of Söll was subsumed into the Cult of Taal. [3a]
