Sour Sea
The Sour Sea is an inland sea in the Worlds Edge Mountains. [1a]
History
The sea was once called the Crystal Sea. [2a]
In ancient times a warpstone meteor struck Cripple Peak, shattering it and burying itself at its heart, over the centuries, warpstone seeped into the waters of the sea, killing or mutating all life within it. The waters glowed green with a sickly scum on its surface, the surrounding vegetation twisted and sick. [1a]
In -1600 IC [1b] Nagash arrived and first lived like a hermit on the caves in the mountain, exploring the mountain until he discovered the warpstone at its heart and began expermenting with it. By -1500 IC he had perfected his necromantic magi he took control of the local tribes, slaying any shaman with a single word that did not flee. He sowly built a empire on its shores formed of the dead and the lcoal tribesmen who now saw him as a god and who sent him offerings of their fairest maidens and youths to apease him. Over the next few centuries the small villages grew to become small towns and at its heart was the great fortress of Nagashizzar.. [1a] [1b]

The warpstone mining would soon turn the surroundings into a wasteland , becomming known as the Desolation of Nagash. Those few of the local population that survived would become Ghouls. [1a]
