Tol Ista
Tol Ista was a High Elf treaty port in Estalia. [1a]
It was located on the west coast of Estalia. [1a]
History
In 1214 IC the city was attacked by a force of Orcs and Goblins that had been driven out of Bretonnia and gathered under Bruza da Big. An initial sally by the garrison was soundly defeated and their banner captured with the survivors retreating within the walls and preparing to evacuate to safety. [1a]
As they prepared to abandon the port, the High Elf Prince Ethwar sent a hawk to say he was one days march away and to hold on until he had arrived and defeatd the attackers. However Bruza planted the captured army banner on a prominent hillock and set it alight, taunting the Prince and his warriors as they deployed, under constant missile fire from skirmishers. Despite the strong position held by the Orcs and Goblins, the mainly cavalry force charged and took heavy losses, even a new sally by the city defenders achieved little. [1a]
Finally the elves retreated to within the walls and that night set sail for Ulthuan, leaving the empty city to be sacked the next day. [1a]
