Uniforms & Heraldry were a series of sourcebooks meant to aid and provide ideas for "collectors, miniature painters, wargammers and anybody who has an interrest" in the respective Warhammer nation.
Each book is focused upon a single nation and shows the usual colours, shields and banners of various military units. These books are largely focused upon the visual aspects; not providing huge amounts of background information the books manage still to provide some interesting details.
