Welcome to Warhammer - Age of Sigmar - Lexicanum! We hope you will contribute much and well. You will probably want to read the [Lexicanum:Help help pages]. Again, welcome and have fun! Ashendant (talk) 07:28, 4 February 2019 (MST)

Redirects

Hey, so I thought I told you this but apparently I haven't. Soonish(possibly at the end of the month), we are going to split the Lexicanum into two databases, one for Fantasy Battles and one for Age of Sigmar. The redirects you are currently making might not pass to the new database, which means you would have to do it all over again. Feel free to decide if you want to keep doing redirects or not. Every other content should have no problems passing over. After the split we are going to need lots of hands to make a lot of redirects through.--Ashendant (talk) 16:36, 16 May 2019 (MDT)

Ahh... that's why no one else is adding them. I'll keep that in mind, but I will probably keep adding them more by habit than by design. Also, they're pretty easy to do and I don't mind.--IDthisguy (talk) 8:08pm, 16 May 2019 (EDT)
Redirects are important so feel free to continue doing so. I wanted to do more of them, but with the Split Incoming and the Wanted Pages being absolutely flooded with a mix of AoS and FB stuff it can get very confusing what to do.--Ashendant (talk) 19:44, 16 May 2019 (MDT)

Nagendra

Hey, I need to know if Nagendra is referred as a godbeast in the source you added today? Battletome: Fyreslayers (2019) - Born of Flame, pg. 14-19-Ashendant (talk) 06:28, 29 June 2019 (MDT)

Why yes he is referred to as a godbeast, here's the full quote about him from the book: "Perhaps it was this, or the size of their fabled treasure hoard, that drew Nagwroth the fyre serpent. Offspring of the titanic godbeast Nagendra, Nagwroth coiled around the mountain, and the ensuing battle destroyed Drakenhal."--IDthisguy (talk) 11:51pm, 29 June 2019 (EDT)
Thanks! Nagendra has been mentioned plenty of times, but I don't think before this any stated that he was a godbeast or zodiacal monster. Now I can make a few important edits.--Ashendant (talk) 08:28, 30 June 2019 (MDT)

Adding Images

You added a few images, but it had a few problems:

  • It missed categories, which is extremely important.
  • It has copyright copied to the copyright section. Don't do this as copied text does not automatically update. Instead add {{Copyright}} which does automatically update.
  • The source missed the page number or section. I'm not going to give you an hard time about this as it is only necessary for completion's sake.

Either way, great job and thanks for adding more images. It's just what we need!--Ashendant (talk) 08:33, 30 June 2019 (MDT)

Sorry I'll remember next time!--IDthisguy (talk) 12:52pm, 30 June 2019 (EDT)
Don't worry you'll eventually get the hang of it. We do need more images to be uploaded.--Ashendant (talk) 11:07, 30 June 2019 (MDT)

Authors in Sources

Hey just so we know we will no longer add author in sources. The 40k Lexi will stop doing and to reduce complication we will do so too.--Ashendant (talk) 09:31, 2 July 2019 (MDT)

Ok cool.--IDthisguy (talk) 12:37pm, 1 July 2019 (EDT)

List of Units update

I've decided that at some point we are going to need to need to update the units list, most likely long after the Split. I built a prototype (List of Moonclan Grots units) and would like to know if you have any feedback on it. Thanks!--Ashendant (talk) 09:21, 21 July 2019 (MDT)

I actually like this idea and the format, I just think a few things need to be either changed or explained: First, just explain that unique units get their unique status from having unique in the notes next to their battlefield profile because all three of the unique units in that list are also available in the main game. Just to clear up otherwise needless confusion. Second do we really need to put the faction title as one of the columns in the list? If you're clicking on this page already you would probably expect every unit to be from Moonclan grots anyway so it seems kind of redundant. Maybe replace it with either battlefield role or a quick one sentence description. Likewise the Grand Alliance column should probably get rolled into the beginning description because at least so far no faction has units from two Grand Alliances, it's not impossible that GW could do that in the future but it's very unlikely. But other than that the design is pretty strong and I like the idea of having a list for each faction's units as well as splitting them in sub-lists the way you did.--IDthisguy (talk) 2:31pm, 21 July 2019 (EDT)
That's a good point about unique units, but I was trying to avoid strict gameplay terms like that. Still it's a good reference point and I'll give it a look.
On the Faction and Grand Alliance columns the objective is so we can use these individual lists to make even bigger lists, like the General one, Gloomspite Gitz and Grand Alliance units lists, and to replace other lists, like List of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar units/Moonclan Grots and List of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar forgeworld units/Moonclan Grots. This would make it much simpler to update.
However I could also fuse the Grand Alliance and Faction column into an Allegiance column. Which would leave a column open.
I want to avoid things like descriptions, but maybe Battlefield Role could work? Depending on what you mean by that.--Ashendant (talk) 13:45, 21 July 2019 (MDT)
I like the idea of an allegiance column, this way a Moonclan Grots unit could be "Moonclan Grots, Gloomspite Gitz, Grand Alliance of Destruction" and it's more flexible than having a column for each allegiance going up. Battlefield Role is from the pitched battle profiles in General's Handbook which basically puts each unit into a specified role which determines its place in your army and how many you can have/need in that army. So for example my stormcast eternals have a celestar ballista which as its battlefield role is artillery. In a 1,000 point army I can only have 4 from the artillery battlefield role.--IDthisguy (talk) 11:00pm, 21 July 2019 (EDT)
The Allegiance Column would always start with the Grand Alliance faction. The problem is after that. Should we put GA, Base faction, then soup factions or GA, then soup then base.
I think using Battlefield role might work. I'll have to look into it.
I will apply these changes later and see if it works.--Ashendant (talk) 08:11, 22 July 2019 (MDT)
Battlefield Role might be unusable. What is a Battleline changes with generals and allegiances and there are some that are left blank.--Ashendant (talk) 15:21, 22 July 2019 (MDT)

Updated this list again. Added other allegiance and remove properties from files that were distorting the image. It should look much better now. Still trying to figure out if I should fuse Faction and Grand Alliance columns and what I should replace it with, if at all.--Ashendant (talk) 05:13, 27 July 2019 (MDT)

Faction Navigation Templates Prototype

Like the List of Moonclan units I decided to create a prototype template for a list of future faction navigation templates to be applied after the split here: Template:Lion Rangers‎‎. If you have any suggestions I would very much like to hear them.--Ashendant (talk) 08:24, 1 August 2019 (MDT)

This is awesome. It'll easily replace all the crazy long lists on the faction pages while at the same time giving people a directory under every page related to that faction if they want to learn more. I love it!--IDthisguy (talk) 12:24am, 2 August 2019 (EDT)
I've decided to expand this prototype to everything addressing the Lion Rangers faction. I will not do the rest of the factions until the split is properly done, as this is more testing the waters with a faction not likely to be expanded by GW. Any suggestions or opinions?--Ashendant (talk) 17:17, 2 August 2019 (MDT)
My one concern is that for factions like Stormcasts that have lots of characters and models this might be harder to use to fit them all in without becoming crazy over bloated.--IDthisguy (talk) 3:56am, 4 August 2019 (EDT)
For Models it doesn't really matter. I don't think there will ever be too many models.
Characters is a issue, however we can reduce these lists to major or special characters(character with rules).
Any suggestions on how to improve it?--Ashendant (talk) 06:24, 4 August 2019 (MDT)
I thought about this and I don't have any ideas. Reducing the lists to major characters makes sense to me.--IDthisguy (talk) 6:32pm, 5 August 2019 (EDT)
It'll be conditional. If the list of characters would get too big, like Stormcast, we'll try to reduce it to Special. If it's biggish, like Moonclan we'll use Major. If it's small, like Lion Rangers, we'll dump every character. Probably not the best solution but it works for now.--Ashendant (talk) 17:50, 5 August 2019 (MDT)
Works for me!--IDthisguy (talk) 7:57pm, 5 August 2019 (EDT)

Image Quality

Can you check the Azyrite Arbiters article and tell me if there are any differences between images?--Ashendant (talk) 06:42, 8 August 2019 (MDT)

[1]
But seriously if there is a difference I can't tell. I even went back into my copy of the 3rd Stormcasts Battletome and the image looks the same to me.--IDthisguy (talk) 2:35am, 10 August 2019 (EDT)
