Image Hyrophant.jpg Welcome, new adept of the LEXICANUM!

Hi there and welcome. It's nice to see new faces around!
A great place to start, if you are new to wikis, are the
help pages and guidelines.
If you have any further questions please contact a Sysop.
Most of all however, please enjoy your time here :)
Otherwise, see you around the site!

Hy there, and thank you for your contributions. Notice that singular titles are preferred over plural tiles as long the difference between the two is a single "S". It's mainly because of the links. Imagine an article about 'Knights' (the subject of the article are knights as a whole). The title is 'Knight' (singular form) because it's simply easier to write in another article something about "several Knights" (notice how the "S" is written outside of the brackets). It's simply way harder and cumbersome to write it the other way around: Knight (about a particular knight) Aehren 22:48, 5 November 2009 (UTC) Press "edit" button above to see what I mean.

Roger that. I'll keep that in mind for any new articles on the lesser daemons. --Solkan 04:55, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

Another thing: if you have any comments, proposals for improvement, or simple questions, etc don't be afraid. I might disagree with some of them but I'm here to listen. Aehren 23:13, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

No problem. I'm still getting used to where the conversations about articles and such are supposed to take place. --Solkan 04:55, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
You're not obliged to raise very point in the article's talkpage. You can ask stuff to the users themselves.
Are you sure about this title Warhammer Armies: Storm of Chaos (6th Edition)? I don't have this book, what does the spine of the book say? Remember that not all of these books have the "Warhammer Armies" part. E.g.: Warhammer Realms: Lustria (I know that this is a rotten example - we don't even have this article but the spine sports this name. Aehren 13:58, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
I do not have access to an intact spine for the Storm of Chaos book. I had been reacting to a comment in the Introduction to the book that it "is not a Warhammer Aries book in the traditional sense." Digging around archive.org's copies of the GW website, it looks like GW was consistent in referring to it as Warhammer: Storm of Chaos, so I may have been hasty. --Solkan 17:30, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Please always seperate background and sources - in the background text things like In army book XY... have no place - the sources should be mentioned at the end of the article in the Sources section (an exception is a description of background changes - but also in a seperate section).--Genestealer, Magus 03:27, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Can you comment in the article discussion on what should be changed? --Solkan 03:58, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Note to self: \<ref\>ref\</ref\> and a final <references\> looks much nicer than manual superscripts. --Solkan 21:02, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Agreed (and that's why I use it all the time). However it only works if you log in first. Try logging out and then take a look at Council of Thirteen. Don't ask me why this happens. Aehren 21:11, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
And therefore it's pointless to use it ;). Btw, it's also possible to use Template:C to create footnotes or comments.--Genestealer, Magus 21:23, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Well, it isn't completely pointless (we simply will have to wait until someone fixes the problem, Inquisitor should be able to do it). It works in Wikipedia, so it must be possible "here" also. I suspect that some guys are loging in for the sole purpose of looking at the sources (I noticed that some users are logged in but never did any contribution at all). Aehren 21:29, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
I had tried adding some page references to one of my articles and it's just looks so error prone dealing with manually numbered references. It's really weird and disappointing because Council of Thirteen looks great when I'm logged in, but from a different computer which isn't logged in all the references break.  :( --Solkan 22:12, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Another thing Solkan, you can take a look at the Navigation box (upper left corner). Click on "Recent changes". We tend to leave short messages to each other "there" - actually it's the summary resume. You may already know this but then maybe not. Aehren 21:55, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

There is one point which I don't understand. Is the expectation that a person replies to a note on their talk page on the other person's talk page or do I reply here? --Solkan 22:12, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Do it here - I think it's better for a third person to follow the discussion (and get in, if he/she has something to contribute in it).--Genestealer, Magus 22:41, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, that's good to to know. --Solkan 22:51, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Edit:@Aehren: Inquisitor S. isn't the person in charge in technical issues - you have to contact Odysseus.--Genestealer, Magus 22:47, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

If you want to take a break take it, don't burn out

Remember always: you're free to take all the breaks that you want and need. Spend some time with your friends, go to school, play some computer games, flirt with your girl-friend (if you have one), don't neglect your family, etc. If you focus yourself too much in the Lexicanum you will burn out. Sometimes I take breaks which last whole weeks. Aehren 16:46, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
