The fourth edition of Warhammer Fantasy Battles game released to date and the first to subscribe to the "Kirby formula" of product, whereby the rulebook was released as part of a larged boxed set including plastic models and terrain. 4th Edition also saw the introduction of Army Books, wherein all the heroes and units available to a single army would be listed in a separate supplementary book.
