He paticipated in the tourament to find a champion for the new Everqueen Alarielle. [1a] In the first round, testing the skills of sword and shield, he reached the final four before facing Tyrion who defeated him. He took his defeat well, complementing his opponent and looking forward to the contest of the lance. [1b]
Twenty-four competitors remained for the second day and the contest of the lance and this time Arhalien was victorious. [1c]
When the Dark Elves attacked the encampment during the night, a restless Arhalien had been checking his sentries when he was attacked. He managed to gather some knights and fight his way clear of the slaughter. [2a][2b] Later he was found with a small group of survivors by Teclis who told Arhalien that he was seeking the Everqueen and his brother and that he must continue the fight against Malekith. [2b]
Initially Teclis suggested he take hs warriors south to safeguard refugees heading for the White Tower of Hoeth. [2c] Later he was part of the army that gathered on the Finuval Plain that was joined by the Everqueen. [2d]
He was the first to step forwards when the herald of Malekith called for a challenger to meet the Witch King's Champion, Urian Poisonblade in single combat. Despite his skill, he was killed in a single pass of blades. [2e]
|He is brave, noble, of ancient lineage, a noted poet, a fine dancer, a bold war-leader. He is everything a hero should be - sickeningly dull.
