Beorg leads the Bearmen into battle

The Bearmen of Urslo is a renowned regiment of mercenary Norse led by Beorg Bearstruck [1a] a huge were-bear. [2a]

Bears for Hire

The Bearman can be hired by any army except Bretonnia, High Elves, Lizardmen and Wood Elves. [1a]

History

When Archaon marched on the southern lands of civilised man, Beorg and his warriors join the huge army. [2a]

They fought Arch-Lector Mannfeld of Nuln at the Battle of the Monoliths and then fought and plundered their way through the Empire and into the Border Princes. [2a]

During a night of drunken revelry, they were attacked by Goblins, Beorg snapping their chief's neck and Oerl the Young losing a eye. [2a]

Weapons and Equipment

  • 5th Edition:: Hand Weapon, Light Armour and Shield. Includes Beorg Bearstruck, as well as a Horn blower and Oerl the Young who carries the unit Banner. Beorg Beaerstruch is a Werebear and has the Bear Fang, but needs no weapons beyond his huge teeth and claws! [2a]
  • 6th Edition:: Hand Weapon, Light Armour and Shield. Includes Beorg Bearstruck, as well as a Horn blower and Oerl the Young who carries the unit Banner. Beorg Beaerstruch is a Werebear and has the Bear Fang, but needs no weapons beyond his huge teeth and claws! [1a]
  • Bear Banner: An entire bear skin carried as a Totem, which helps drive the regiment into a powerful and deadly frenzy in battle. [1a]
  • Bear Fang: The ancient symbol of Lordship in his tribe, Beorg wears it about his neck and it magically protects him. [1a]
