Bechafen

Bechafen is the capital of the Grand Province of Ostermark in the Empire. [1a]
It is situated on the south bank of the Upper Talabec and is a crowded settlement sheltering behind its walls. [1a]
History
After the destuction of Mordheim in the at the end of 1999 / early hours of 2000 IC it became the new capital. [1a]
Storm of Chaos
When Wolfram Herwig answered the call to arms, he left his younger brother Matteus Herwig in charge, fears began to build that a Chaos army would attack from Kislev. [1a]
Locations
Most of the buildings are tall and narrow, often leaning and usually made out of dark woods from the Great Forest. [1a]
- Boatyards: Famous for the great quality of the river craft they produce. [1a]
- Fire College: A small, hidden college for Elementalists who study the element of Fire. It can be found in the a back street, squeezed between a smithy and a noisy tavern, marked out only by a smalled flame painted on the always locked front door. [3a]
- Red Teeth Tavern: Built by Ruggero Steeleye its proprietor, it features several large open bar rooms with massive booths but relatively few tables. A mercenary and a successful pit fighter he fought beside, and on a few occasions, against, Ogres and built his Tavern specifically to cater to the many Ogres working in Bechafen. Red’s as the locals call it has become a favourite of passing Ogre mercenaries as well as inhabitants serving vast quantities of passable ale and colossal skewers of meat as raw as you please.[2a]
- Water powered sawmills: A pair gifted to the city by the King of Karak Kadrin. [1a]
