Carnosaur
A Carnosaur is a huge reptilian carnivore native to the steaming jungles of Lustria and the Southlands. [2a]
Aggressive hunters, they are big enough to swallow a man whole or tear huge chunks of flesh from larger prey and will stalk and attack almost any other creature in their territory, even the equally dangerous Stegadon. On occasion a Carnosaur has tracked prey from the Southlands into Araby or the Badlands and whilst rare eggs are found frozen in Naggaroth or Norsca. Eggs have even been sold into the cities of the Old World. [2a]
Carnosaurs are sometimes ridden by Saurus leaders of the Lizardmen the Saurus Oldblood or Saurus Scar-Veteran. [1a]
Description
Carnosaurs stand several meters tall on two muscular legs. They have clawed hands used for grasping prey, and large mouths full of razor sharp teeth designed to rip chunks of flesh off their enormous prey. Carnosaurs are apex predators who stalk the dark jungles and ravenously devour anything they find. Once a Carnosaur tastes blood, it goes into an uncontrollable feeding frenzy. [1a]
Lizardmen
Rarely Skink hunters manage to steal a Carnosaur egg and return to their Temple-City so they can be incubated, although this is exceptionally dangerous as a Carnosaur mother is extremely protective. Raising them is also difficult as newborns are vicious and can bite a unwary skink in half. [3a]
However they can become accustomed to a war-harness and even taking direction from a rider, but only the most powerful Saurus can control them. [3a]
