The Cult of Solkan is the organised worship of the God Solkan across the Old World. [1a]

Followers of Solkan, like their god, see the world in black and white — hating chaos, change, and ambiguity. They seek to eradicate corruption and restore order so that Solkan can he rule over an unending realm of stability. [1a]

Usually humourless and austere they favour white- and gold-coloured robes and sometimes wear a golden mask like their god. [1c]

Festivals

History

Some claim he is a primaeval sun deity originating from Nehekhara, or even an entity from the ranks of the mysterious Old Ones but his oldest known human cult originated in ancient Tilea in Remas where he was the unsmiling judge in their pantheon of the Classical gods. [1a]

He was worshipped in what would become the Empire as the sun god Söll and was the patron diety of the Menogoths tribe. As Cult of Sigmar became dominant, his worship declined. By the 2500s IC his worship was unpopular with a few shrines to Solkan found in private residences — usually a whitewashed room with an altar bearing a golden sword and a window facing the rising sun. Some Witch Hunters do revere Solkan as a patron unbending enough to quell the forces of Chaos and change. [1a]

In Tilea he remains a mainstream god in Tilea embodying a strict but benign force of stability and rectitude with Tileans invoking his name when they have been wronged and he has become the patron of the vendetta. [1a]

Priests of Söll agitate for Solland’s independence and against the earthy rites of Rhya. [1b]

Holy Books

Locations

  • Remas, A imposing unblemished white limestone structure which towers above the city, its 200-foot spire topped with a golden sword that turns upon a pivot to point towards the sun. [1a]

Orders

Relations

The Cult believes the soft gods have accommodated human failings and hence allowed the pervasive advance of Chaos and so they remain disdainful of other Old World gods and their cults — although they have learned to keep these views discreet. [1b]

Strictures

  • Do not tolerate signs of impurity such as flirtation, dancing, music or any kind of frivolity. [1b]
  • Never Compromise. [1b]
  • Revere the sun's cleansing light each day. [1b]
  • Suffer nothing tainted by the Ruinous Powers but rather seek and obliterate it without negotiation or pause. [1b]
  • Suppress all emotions, other than righteous fury. [1b]

Quotes

You think the Order of Sigmar are fanatics? Wait until you meet a Solkanite — they can glean corruption from any innocent word or action.
