Jade Warriors

Jade Warriors are the line infantry of Grand Cathay. ^[1]

Named for the Celestial Dragon Emperor’s sacred stone, they are expertly trained and well equipped, forming the standing army of the nation which must defend against Chaos incursions, Ogres, rebels and many other enemies. ^[1]

Each city maintains its own regiment and they are collectively known as the Warriors of Jade & Steel. ^[1]

Battle Tactics

Jade Warriors are taught to adopt a Defensive Stance when immobile, making them harder to charge and kill and which builds as they remain solid and still, taking in the lay of the land and bedding in to fend off the next attack. Those who show an aptitude for shooting rather than stabbing use crossbows giving a strong ranged backbone to the Grand Cathayan army. ^[1]

The Jade Lancers are Grand Cathay’s mainstay cavalry, a hard-hitting, well-armoured force of Jade Warriors on horseback. They often form scouting groups that range outside the Great Bastion destroying Chaos tribes in the region - a dangerous but neccesary task. ^[1]

Weapons and Equipment

They march to battle armed in numerous possible ways including Crossbow, Halberd, Lance and Sword & Shield. ^[1]
