The Sarl are a tribe of Norsca. [1]

History

After Emperor Hasso creates a strong navy to defend against Norse raiding, the chieftains of the Bjornling, Sarl and Skaeling sign a treaty to cease raiding at the Althing of Trktatsey in 765 IC. [2a]

King Torgald of the Aesling tribe challenged the Sarl to battle which they accepted despite being outnumbered. King Viglundr called upon Wulfrik to lead his warriors, offering him his daughter Hjordis as a reward for victory. [1]

At the Battle of a Thousand Skulls the two tribes faced each other with Torgald and Wulfrik finally meeting and the Sarl champion being victorious and claimed his ancient blade as a trophy. [1]

Locations

Tribes of the Sarl dominate the north and north-western coast of Troll Country and are more people of the horse than the ship, although they do also fish. [2b]

Religion

The Troll Country Sarl worship the Chaos pantheon as a whole rather than a single god and feel that to worship only one of the dark gods is to risk loosing the favour of the others for the tibe. [3a] They know them by various names -

  • Neiglen: [2b], Grandfather, the Fly Lord, the Plaguefather. [3a]
  • the Hound, God of Warriors. [1]
