Talk:Worlds Edge Mountains

There's no argument as to what it's meant to mean, but it is consistently spelled without the apostrophe. That tells me it's intentional. Geographic names often don't have a possessive apostrophe (For instance there are several places named "Devils River" or "Devils Brook" and they are the officially correct spellings).

from wikipedia:

Possessive apostrophe

An apostrophe is used in English to indicate possession. The practice ultimately derives from the Old English genitive case: the “of” case, itself used as a possessive in many languages. The genitive form of many nouns ended with the inflection -es, which evolved into a simple -s for the possessive ending. An apostrophe was later added to mark the omitted e.

So the idea is that the mountains were named before the apostrophe was invented, and the spelling has remained set in stone. --Acidface 02:30, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, I checked all my armybooks and I (only) found a single map using World's Edge Mountains, in Warhammer Armies: The Empire (7th Edition) p.8. I honestly believed that there were more maps using the "proper" spelling. Aehren 09:43, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
