Xhou Ch'ing is a Ancestor Spirit and servant of Tsien-Tsin. [1a]

Appearance

He takes the form of an old man with a stringy moustache, long fingernails dressed in a patterned golden robe. [1b]

History

He was buried under a bamboo tree from which a flute was made which could be used to summon his spirit. [1a]

Dien Ch'ing is his descendant. [1a]

Discovering that two escapees from his slave caravan, Vukotich and Genevieve Dieudonné were spying on Yefimovich, Dien summoned Xhou Ch'ing to deal with them. The spirit manifested to them and asked them to merely remain where they wee for three days and they would be rewarded, he continued to make the offer whilst dispelling or ignoring what minor magic Genevieve could muster. [1b]

However Genevieve used the silver shackle on her arm to banish him. [1b]

For his failure he was bound in the Netherhells beneath the Pagoda for a century or so. [1c]

Quotes

Greetings, honoured ones. I bring you the multiple blessings of my most worshipful descendant Dien Ch'ing, who has attained the exalted position on the Fifth Tier of the Pagoda of Tsien-Tsin. I am Xhou Ch'ing, unworthy dog of a servant, and I request your kind permission to convey to you a proposition upon which I hope you will look with merciful favour.

~ Xhou Ch'ing. [1b]
