Diseases of the Warhammer World include natural contagions or plagues as well as those created by Clan Pestilens and the Chaos God Nurgle. [1a]
Clan Pestilens
The Plague Priests of this Skaven Clan seek to create the perfect disease which can spread like wildfire but also leave no survivors. [1a]
Known Diseases
- Black Plague: Virulent and highly infectious, plague marks - dark blotches suddenly appear and spread across the body followed by delirium, fever, convulsions, loss of control over the bodily functions and swelling of the joints. Those few who survive - around one in ten - are often crippled. No mundane treatment. [1b]
- Boil Lurgy: A creation of Pestilens, Pustules and fluid-filled boils appear all over the skin of the victim which is also attacked by fever and weakness. Only two out of every ten infected survive with death occurring within thirteen days of the first infection. No known mundane treatment. [1a]
- Flea Bubos: Created by Pestilens, the infested area - usually the groin and neck is inflamed and swells. The eggs laid by a flea-like insect eventually hatch and hundreds of hungry larvae begin to consume the victims flesh before emerging. Secondary infections result in the death of the victim in seven cases out of ten. Can be treated with applications to kill the larvae. [1a]
