The Elder of the Moot is the representative of The Moot and of the Halflings in general in the courts of The Empire. He is an Elector, casting a vote in the election of a new emperor, and holds a certain amount of political influence.
This office was created by an edict of Emperor Ludwig the Fat in 1010 IC[1][2a] and the current Elder of the Moot is Hisme Stoutheart[2b][3]
