"The Empire" to "Empire of Man" rename
This page should be renamed as Empire of Man, since "Empire of Man" is technically the official name of the Human nation.
- It is refered to as both in the text, eg pg.45 is titled the The Empire of Man but then starts as The Empire is both one of the largest.... - I think a redirect will be fine. --Viktor (talk) 21:11, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
Querying Viktor's Edit Suggestion
While Viktor's suggestion certainly has merit, The Empire of Man - this should really be "The Sigmarite Emmpire", BTW - is not "the Human nation". Bretonnia, Kislev, Araby, Tilea, and Estalia also exist; I am unsure what the story is with Nippon, Ind, Cathay, and Kislev. I do know that Games Workshop has acknowledged Araby, Bretttonia, Estalia, and Tilea since at least 4th Edition of Warhammer Fantasy. And, IIRC, the 2250 or whatever date the Old World is set in, falls somewhere in 4th or 5th Edition WHFB in terms of background events and the overall timeline... I could be mistaken RE the specific Edition, but my overall point stands.
TL;DR - the Empire is NOT the only Human nation; there are also Araby, Brettonia, Kislev, Estalia, and Tilea. NobleKorhedron (talk) 00:15, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
- I agree that the Empire is not the only human nation state and hence I thnk the Empire (based on the Holy Roman Empire), rather than the Empire of Man works better I feel - it is only one of many Empires of Men (and women).... The other nations you mention are 2nd and 3rd ed, its only really 1st ed that just has Men of the West etc. However the Empire is not a purely a Sigmarite Empire - he is considered the major god in much of the Empire but not everywhere - certainly not the north and much less so in areas such as Talabheim. The people fo the Empire worship a pantheon not a single god. We do need to acknowledge that GW are calling the faction the Empire of Man and the Empire and make sure people can easily find it with both search terms? --Viktor (talk) 12:33, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
