Bone Scarab
From Warhammer - The Old World - Lexicanum
Bone Scarabs are magical constructs first used by Nagash during the War for Cripple Peak. [1a]
Large six-legged scuttling insects of bone and bronze about the size of a large shield with small armoured heads animated by the power of warpstone. Beneath their razor-edged carapaces are wing-like armatures of human hide and metal. [1a]
They have no brain but a series of commands carved inside their skull and a small piece of warpstone is embeded deep within their thorax, enought to power them for a short fight. [1a]
History
As the Skaven continued to press his forces harder and harder in -1290 IC, Nagash was forced to unleash the mere score of scarabs he had created to stem their advance. [1a]
