K'daai Fireborn

The K'daai Zharr, or the scions of fire are creations of the Sorcerer-Prophets and Daemonsmiths of the Chaos Dwarfs, binding elemental magma and the essence of daemons into rune-stamped bodies of iron and bronze with ritual and sacrifice.[1][2]

Appearance

There are three known varieties of K'daai: The Fireborn; the Manburner; and the Destroyer.[1]

Both Fireborn and Manburners resemble serpentine creatures made of glowing molten rock, with torsos that bear a just a semblance of humanoid features, having two arms and a head. The Destroyer on the other hand, is a gigantic quadrupedal monstrosity. It has no fixed appearance, being forged in whatever image it's creators choose for it. Some resemble a huge bull, to honour Hashut, while others take the form of Dragons or Rhinox, and yet others are completely unique, based not on an existing monster, but taking a form conjured by the imagination of it's maker.[2]

History

The Dawi Zharr had long desired to enslave, rather than bargain with daemonkind, wanting to force them into servitude in the form of weapons, armour, and war machines. Though they had some success with their hellbound devices, such as the Hellcannon, the entities within such weapons were treacherous and sometimes proved as dangerous to their users as to their enemies. They finally had their breakthrough when the High Priests of the god Hashut managed to wield their artifice to create a new race of beings, combining raging fiery elemental forces and daemon stuff into an entity, birthed in the blood of the sacrificial victims of Hashut, and then contained within an artificial metal body, forged by Daemonsmiths.
