Morghasts are undead Reanimants created by Nagash and serving in his Deathlords armies. They were created as twisted reflections of the angelic creatures that fly through the higher reaches of the Hyshian vaults, but instead of being holy eidolons epitomise light, energy and purity, the Morghasts embody morbid malice and inhuman ferocity. They are constructed of bone-matter of such density they can even blunt truesteel axes and within their ribcages are the skulls of slain wizards and seers that allows Morghasts to draw on a near-inexhaustible supply of energy. Since the formation of the Shyish Nadir it is believed Nagash has granted the secrets of their construction to the Ossiarch Bonereapers, resulting them being fielded in even larger numbers than before.[4]

Morghast Harbingers are fielded offensive as destroyers that range ahead of armies striking fear into the hearts of enemies. Armed with either a spirit halberd or a spirit sword in each hand, they swoop down into ranks before slaughtering them in a whirlwind of slashing blades shocking those that considered them to be slow-moving.[1b][4]

The Morghast Archai are bodyguards that protect Nagash’s champions in battle, a duty they carryout with single-minded ferocity. They are protected by magically forged ebon-wrought armour that can even turn aside arcane attacks and reply to those attacks with Spirit Halberds or Spirit Swords. They are silent guardians but in some instances they speak in a deathly hiss with the voice of Nagashizzar. Some undead warlords may grow too accustomed to their presence, believing them as mere servitors not knowing they are silently observing and remembering every word spoken by those nearby. It only takes a single mental impulse from Nagash to turn against their assigned ward, destroying those who attempt to subvert or deny the will of Nagash.[1a][4]
