Valkyries
The Valkyries were once wives of Losteriksson's warriors in Skeggi who now live alone in Lustria. [1a]
As they seem to be the same women that left Skeggi so long ago, it is rumoured that they have access to a drug that gives them eternal youth and longevity. [1a]
Culture
They have forged their own unique culturre, using the remnants of the Lizardmen artefacts around them. [1a]
History
Many Norse wives had lost husbands since arriving in Skeggi and when the city was attacked in 891 IC[1b] they took up arms alongsidde the small number or remaining menfolk, defeating the attackers. However they were told (after the battle) that axe wielding in battle is man's work and not for women! [1a]
When they angrily refused, they were given a longship and banished, heading far from Skeggi taking the name of Valkyries for themselves. They found a deserted series of temples on a island in the middle of the Amazon River and settled there, making it their stronghold. [1a]
Many years later, Dwarf and Elf adventurers raided, thinking it was a Lizardmen city. They were swiftly defeated and brought back tales of strange human warrior women who they called Amazons, naming the island they defended so fiercly as the Heart of Darkness. [1a]
