The Darkside Cowboys are a Dark Elf Blood Bowl team.
History
The team initially gained the attention of the Blood Bowl community when the Pinkfoot Panthers visited them in 2422 IC for a game and did not return.[1a]
They were admitted to the NFC in 2438 IC and were notable for using small tied Troglodytes as balls, a factor that substantially adds to their mystique for fans.[1a]
In 2461 IC they won their first Blood Bowl final, defeating the Chaos All Stars after turning their entire front row into slugs. In 2473 are nearly disbanded after a 19 day match against the Kishago Werebears. They eventually managed to rebuild under Jeremiah Kool and go on to win Blood Bowl XXI during which Kool set his passing record. Kool himself would retire in 2487 and was replaced by Hubris Rakarth.[1a]
The Cowboys were once again Blood Bowl finalists in 2488 IC this time facing the Reikland Reavers and by half-time the score was tied at 1-1. As the half time show began, the Reaverettes emerged for the half-time show but the Shadows did not and after a search it appeared that they had run off with Nikk Threehorn and apparently the entire NAF treasury. Although the game continued and the Cowboys went on to win 3-2, the entire future of Blood Bowl looked uncertain.[3a]
However, as other major teams merged or even folded completely, the Cowboys went from strength to strength with their academy programme enabling them to not only field their first team in the ongoing Elven Kingdoms league but also other squads in smaller tournaments. It was noted by a few that by the end of 2488, all of the absent Shadows had returned home to a very comfortable retirement.[3b]
