The Kara Temple Harpies are a Amazons Blood Bowl team dedicated to the Goddess Kalim.[1a]
History
The Wardens of the Temple of Kara have guarded the sacred site throughout history but apart from the occasional Carnosaur have had little need to use their training. Fearing that they would become irrelevant, the Wardens decided to form a Blood Bowl team in 2490 IC, initially just playing in the Amazonian Leagues before moving to the Lustrian Leagues.[1a]
Estelle la Veneaux joins the team in 2493 IC, using Blood Bowl as a way to punish those who wrong the jungle. During a game against the Tlanxla Terradons in 2494 IC, many of the players are mauled by a Kroxigor who mistakes their headdresses for its favourite food - fresh parrot.[1a]
In 2499 IC, the Harpies made their first foray into the wider world of Blood Bowl and most dismissed them as fledgling team but they quickly proved to have exceptional experience and primal fury. They defeated the Darkside Cowboys, the Gouged Eye and the Warhammerers, gaining many fans, even Roxanna Darknail noting she was impressed by their resolve and drive.[1a]
The Spike! Magazine Trophy in 2500 IC was held in Lustria and the Harpies were one of the four host teams, their small pitch transformed into glorious arena, fit for their Goddess. Although many who played or watched them were left in awe of the pageantry, the grandeur and flawless hosting but less impressed with the zero-tolerance of bad language and littering with those who breached the rules often became part of the half-time sacrifice shows. The Harpies won the competition with a single touchdown, defeating the Ostermark Dukes - the cheers after their score startling a pack of Stegadons five miles away.[1a]
