Reikland Reavers
|
The Reikland Reavers are a famous Human Blood Bowl team.[1a]
Chant
Get back in your Dugout, Get out of your sight, You can't beat the Reavers, Don't bother to fight.[2]
Cheerleaders
The Reaverettes have a long and proud history and getting into the team is even harder than earning a spot on the Reikland Reavers. Chosen not just for their agility and vocal abilities but also their intelligence, they also double as the Reavers accountants and publicists.[3]
History
The Reavers were founded in 2389 IC as the Altdorf Acolytes and quickly established a reputation for both ability and skill under DD Griswell Snr who used his vast resources to hire players across the western lands. Playing at the Griswell Memorial Stadium under head coach Johann Weisshaupt they come forth in the Whiteskull Challenge Cup (it would later become the Chaos Cup).[1a]
In 2396 IC the old stadium collapses during a storm and the team moves to Altdorf, changing their name to the Reikland Reavers before beating the Wüppertal Wotans in the final. A now legendary match against the Dwarf Giants in 2399 IC ends in chaos when it becomes clear that each team is using their own version of the game rules. Willy Mülly becomes Head Coach, reputedly by blackmailing the owner about some indiscreet moments with the entire cheerleading squad. DD Griswell Snr dies in 2411 IC and his son DD Griswell Jr takes over.[1a]
Seven players are infected with Nurgles Rot in 2432 and have to be transfered to the Subterranean Slimeballs, not longer after this, the team is taken over by JJ Griswell Snr. He dies in 2468 after straying to close to the sidelines during a game against the Asgard Ravens and replaced by his son DD Griswell Jr and he appoints a new Head Coach Helmut Zwimmer who creates a New Order of preperation and training.[1a]
2485 saw the Reavers beat the Darkside Cowboys to win Blood Bowl XXIV during which the captain Wolfram von Beck is killed after ninty seconds and the Mighty Zug sets his record of the most opponents bitten in one match. Griff Oberwald, cousin of the replacement captain, Orlak Stürmdrang in turn takes over in 2487.[1a]
