Forest
Forests possess economic importance. They aren't farmland, and this results in lower taxes and populations. Increasing population will fell trees slowly reducing and pushing the forests back. War and/or plague will reduce the local population causing a gradual recovery of the forests.
Forests influence military tactics and strategy; they are a rather unsuitable terrain for cavalry (especially for heavy cavalry). Artillery is also disadvantaged due a restricted line of sight. Forests are ideal terrain for ambushes; travellers, isolated army units and sometimes even whole armies can become victims of such a fate.

Naggaroth
- Black Forests: Covering the north of Naggaroth with dark forbidding trees and forming a bleak, soul searing desolation whilst strange ruins and monoliths await in desolate clearings. Gangs of slaves fell the towering pines and drag them back to Clar Karond. [1b]
- Petrified Forest of Naggaroth: Endless tracts of grey, dead trees where nothing will grow - ancient references in the archives of Hoeth speak of a battle between god-like powers when the elves were but mere infants. [1b]
Old World
A substantial area of the Old World is covered by forests. They are ideal terrain for bandits, mutants, Forest goblins, spiders and beastmen.[4]
The Empire
The Empire is dominated by large and dangerous forests. The vast woodlands are punctuated with fortified watchtowers, wizard towers and arcane ruins in addition to the isolated settlements of the Imperials. In these walled pockets of civilisation gates are kept barred every night and the surrounding forests are regarded with dread. [4]
Connecting the towns and villages of the Empire are perilous roads with scattering of fortified coaching inns along their lenght. But even these are not safe, for tales tell of empty inns where all its inhabitant had been slaugthered.[4]

- Covering most of Ostland, the Forest of Shadows is located east of the Great North Road and north of the Middle Mountains. It is thick with raiders and Chaos warbands.
- Covering most of Middenland and surrounding Middenheim, the Drakwald Forest is located south of the Great North Road; infamous for the high number of local beastmen and other horrors. Even the trees are known to attack. The greatest huntsmen of the Empire test their trade in Drakwald.
- Covering Talabecland and a large part of Ostermark, the ancient and diverse Great Forest is located between the Middle Mountains, Nuln and Altdorf. It is home to Forest Goblins and spiders.
- Located on the eastern bank of the Reik and south of Altdorf; infamous for the high number of outcasts and bandits who prey upon the travellers of the local road.
Bretonnia

- Forest of Arden [7]
- Forest of Châlons [8]
Ulthuan
