Road
People travel upon roads, which connect cities, towns, provinces and nations to each other. It must be noted that a substantial part of the traffic is handled by boats sailing upon rivers.
Roads are obvious military assets as armies will use them to march towards the enemy. They also influence the local economy as they connect cities and markets. Travellers and merchants pay tools to the local authorities. A part of the tolls is expended in the maintenance of the road itself.
Another part will pay for Roadwardens, who constantly patrol the roads searching for signs of bandits, beastmen, goblins and simple road damage.
